TAHU
Turaga of Fire
Once leader of the Toa Mata, later the Toa Nuva, Tahu's entire existence has revolved around leadership. Their amnesia after millenia of hibernation caused the team to butt heads constantly and try to perform their duties alone, and it fell to Tahu to make them work together.

Following their victories against the Bohrok Swarm and subsequent transformations into the Toa Nuva, Tahu and the others rapidly became masters of their elements, spending the entirety of their remaining time in the Matoran Universe fighting Makuta's forces. They eventually reached Karda Nui and fought alongside Takanuva and the Av-Matoran to push the Brotherhood back and awaken the Great Spirit once and for all, before fighting on the frontlines during the Battle for Bara Magna. During this time, Tahu was reverted back into a regular Toa in order to don the Golden Armor and vanquish the hordes of Rahkshi.

Once the Makuta were defeated once and for all, Tahu and the other Toa Nuva worked tirelessly to evacuate the Matoran Universe and eventually helped found New Atero.

Tahu willingly gave up his powers to stop the Marendar, becoming a Turaga with the other surviving Toa. While he has no regrets about this choice, he would come to miss his strength, now finding himself without either his Nuva powers or the Golden Armor. While Vakama helped govern their new home, Tahu effectively took on the role of general, helping organize and oversee Vulcanus' militia.

Tahu wears the Kanohi Hau, the Noble Mask of Shielding, and carries an ornamental staff decorated with orange lightstones, the last working examples known to exist.
LEWA
Turaga of Air
The fun-loving comedian of the Toa Nuva, Lewa sought to teach the natives of Spherus Magna that there is always hope in any situation, and any problem can be solved by wind-flying and some elbow grease. His love of joking often annoyed his teammates, but would do so to help keep morale up in stressful scenarios.

Lewa was separated from the others and thus wasn't present for the Battle of Bara Magna, only reuniting with the others after Marendar's emergence. He also wasn't given the ability to understand non-Matoran languages, and keeps a translator around for meetings.
​
His transformation into a Turaga didn't change Lewa's personality too much, instead seeing this age of peace as a chance to finally relax after a lifetime of constant war. For all his jovial antics, however, he was deeply traumatized by Marendar's slaughter, having been on the front lines for most of the conflict. He spreads his time between helping Matau govern their home of Bota Metru and helping Kongu train the militia's restored Gukko Force.

Lewa wears the Kanohi Miru Nuva, the Noble Mask of Levitation, which he uses to aid Matoran in battle. He also carries an Air Pike, his badge of office that once served as his Toa Tool.
GALI
Turaga of Water
Gali's gentle and compassionate spirit saw her become the Toa Nuva's mediator, often helping Tahu keep the team together. She would also join Tahu in looking for a suitable location to found New Atero while the other Toa Nuva were off on other missions.
Always seeking a peaceful solution, she stayed out of much of the fighting against Marendar, instead leading evacuations of settlements and trying to minimize casualties.
​
As a Turaga, what little edge she posessed faded away and she adapted quickly to her new role, becoming a talented governor alongside Nokama. Her compassion and desire to hear both sides of an argument before issuing decrees made her popular among Tajun's populace.

Gali wears the Kanohi Kaukau Nuva, the Noble Mask of Waterbreathing, and carries a hooked staff reminiscent of her original Toa Tools.
